What is PetForWeb?
PetForWeb is a free Google Chrome extension that adds an interactive virtual pet to your browser tabs. You can drag your pet, dress them up, feed them, play fetch, and enjoy mood-based reactions that persist across reloads.
Is PetForWeb free?
Yes. PetForWeb is free to install from the Chrome Web Store. Optional signed-in features (such as AI quips and new-tab dashboard extras) may require an account.
Does PetForWeb read my passwords or full browsing history?
No. PetForWeb does not collect passwords, form inputs, banking data, private messages, or full page content. Optional activity insights use limited domain-level signals when you enable those features.
Which browser does PetForWeb support?
PetForWeb is built for Google Chrome (Chromium). Install it from the Chrome Web Store link on this site.
Will my pet reset when I refresh a tab?
No. PetForWeb saves position, species, accessories, hunger, mood, and related settings so your companion continues where you left off.
How do I install PetForWeb?
Click “Add to Chrome” on petforweb.com, confirm the install prompt in Chrome, then open any tab to meet your pet. Use the extension popup to pick a species and tune behavior.
Can I uninstall PetForWeb?
Yes. Remove the extension from chrome://extensions at any time. You can also clear stored extension data from the popup or your account settings when signed in.
What are the optional AI features?
When signed in and enabled, PetForWeb may generate short, playful comments about broad browsing context (for example “coder energy”) without reading what you type. AI features are optional.
